Dogwood Hometown Series

Carley is an ER nurse and loner in Dogwood, a small town in the piney woods of East Texas. Except for her childhood friend, Mitzie, she’s alone and desperately wants a family. Orphaned at fifteen, when she lost her mom to cancer, she fears attachment and has started to shut Mitzie out of her life. One morning an old hope chest is delivered, filled with newspaper clippings of the Great Storm of 1900, and a letter from a woman claiming to be her grandmother—a grandmother she’s never heard of. Believing the contents of the chest and her grandmother may have some answers to the vivid dreams she’s been having, Carley is compelled to go to Galveston Island to find her. Will she have enough faith to overcome her fear and embrace the family who’s been searching for her?
